Frankham Street South – A New Residential Quarter

At the time of writing, there is a pop-up banner in the Deptford Lounge with the heading 'The future of Deptford Town Centre'. It stands alone, and there's no information to go with it.

Going to the web address www.lewisham.gov.uk/regeneration given at the foot of the banner will not yield much more information except this two year old leaflet, which states 'the proposal will not go ahead unless the majority of residents support this proposal. This will take the form of an independent ballot. It is hoped that full consultation with local residents on these proposals will take place in late 2010'.

We're pretty sure Frankham House have not been consulted. Happy New Year, Frankham House!

    1. Thanks Anon, that is the same link as in the post, where you can read that a development partner may be appointed in late 2013/early 2014 and download the out of date leaflet. Residents in Giffin Street will no doubt have been consulted, but many in Frankham claim not to have been. It only affects them in that they'll be overlooking a building site for a couple of years, though one or two were concerned that there would be changes to their building to integrate them into the site.

  2. Hi - if the exhibition is up in the Library and there's a consultation exhibition in the arches open every day of the week (ive seen it myself), in the street caravan exhibition and in the Albany a couple of years ago and also online on the Council website - all 'Public' spaces - the Frankham residents can't really claim not to have been consulted, can they? i think the changes will be an improvement, but thats just my opinion - if you disagree there are ample opportunities to object

  3. blimey you're a bit persistent...Get this, you don't go to the library, you don't go to the fuckin arches, you don't get any notices about when all this is going on. If you work for the council this may be a lesson.

  4. I go to the library but I don't even know where the arches are. When I go to the library I'm not checking all the info. If there's something that I should know about I expect a notice in my area or a leaflet through my door. Thank you. I do look out for notices but there haven't been any.
