In Transition 1.0

DIY Deptford Action Group, a project set up by Utrophia, is staging the first of a programme of Sunday Screenings, looking at various documentaries about transition "and general world saving activities". They're inviting anyone to come to the project space on Deptford High Street on Sunday evening "to discuss and concoct future projects and ways in which Deptford could become the Cuba of London..."

  1. The New Cutty Sark is moored upside down, anchored to the HIgh Street anchor as a 24hr nightclub ...Deptford High Street is an Amsterdamish Canal, houseboats are moored along the quaysides, Vietnamese Grocers Barges float alongside the Tattoo Waiting Room Cafe Barge, the canal stretches as far as the Old King's Yard into the Great Dockyard Basin on to the river and on to the Salty Sea, Tall Ships dock outside the Salvation Army Care and Share Shop, sailors fill the beauty parlours, a permanent touring Indian Circus circles the canalside, a cable car is suspended above the High Street to carry visitors from CanaryWharfLand, they peer through the glazed pods carrying VanCleef and Arples shopping bags and shower the Undeserving Poor below with diamonds....
